Portrait of Martin Gren

A portrait of Swedish inventor and entrepreneur, Martin Gren, was commissioned by Canon in early 2022, intended for the premises of Axis Communications in Lund, Sweden.

I spent the following months creating a portrait using 5944 squares of patinated bronze. These bronze squares give a pixel effect to the portrait and the choice of aspect ratio as well as pixel density reference Martin’s groundbreaking contributions to digital camera technology. The design was based on the following key considerations: innovation, pixels, aspect ratio, materials, location and abstraction. You can read more about these and see photos from the process of creating of the portrait in these PDF’s:

Visit my new studio!

I’m so excited to finally be able to open my new studio to visitors! The studio is located in Baldringe, just north of Ystad in southern Sweden. If you are interested in visiting, please contact me for more information in English. If you are arriving from abroad I always do what I can to be accommodating and find a suitable time for a studio visit, regardless of the official visiting days.
