EX LIBRIS – solo exhibition in Valletta

EX LIBRIS is the name of my solo exhibition at the Bibliotheca in Valletta. The centuries old books at Malta’s National Library inspired me so much that I just had to create my own metal books and scrolls. I have always used words and text in my art and this whole exhibition focused on an aspect of that. The work was inspired by the old books at the Bibliotheca that deal with metal, metallurgy, chemistry and alchemy. After a lot of research and an enormous amount of work at my studio, the exhibition opened on May 5. The opening was attended by close to 200 people and it went on to get a lot of attention in Maltese (and even international) media before it ended on June 2.
