Words matter. And when people who write them are attacked or threatened, all of society is under attack. The exhibition WORDS is one that is very close to my heart. I sincerely hope to sell every single artwork. And not keep a cent.

I have worked and lived part time in Malta between 2011 and 2019 and when I now, for personal reasons, say goodbye to Malta as my second home, I am grateful for all that it has given me and all the wonderful, art-loving people I have met there. And I remain outraged at any kind of suppression of freedom of speech, the worst example of which was the assassination of investigative journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia in October 2017. People who carry on asking tough questions, demanding accountability and expose truths no matter the risk deserve all of our support. This exhibition is in support of The Shift News and all proceeds, both from sales of artworks and from the auction, will go towards financing their indispensable work. The exhibition is made up of a number of metal artworks that  will be for sale, and three brand new works made especially for the exhibition. These three works will be auctioned. Please see below for more details about them, and how to place a bid.

The venue for WORDS is Studio 87, Liesse Hill in Valletta. The exhibition opens on Friday, November 15 at 7pm. AMENDED OPENING HOURS: Studio 87 is open Tuesday–Wednesday 10am–3.30pm and Thursday–Friday 10am–6pm. The last day is November 22. This is a silent auction and the winning bid will be the highest one when the exhibition closes on the 22nd. All bids are binding.Truth Will Out is made of patinated copper and bronze. It is a free-standing sculpture, mounted on a wooden base and cannot be hung on a wall. Size of the base: 22x25cm. The work is c. 14cm high.

It can either be placed flat or hung on a wall. The wooden backdrop measures 24.5×24.5cm.

This is a silent auction and the winning bid will be the highest one when the exhibition closes on the 22nd. All bids are binding. Words Unfurling is made of etched and patinated brass and copper. It is mounted with a distance on a wooden backdrop that measures 24.5x35cm.
